As a nurse and Certified Diabetes Educator, Melanie has years of experience managing patient education programs and has served as Director of Diabetes Education at major medical centers in Chicago and other Illinois locations. She is also a Clinical Diabetes Nurse Educator and has updated both nurses and physicians on current trends in diabetes care.
Melanie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Bradley University in Peoria and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. She has worked as a Medical/Surgical staff nurse, staff development instructor, clinical nurse specialist and diabetes education coordinator in various medical settings.
Melanie has also worked in marketing and education for major pharmaceutical and medical device companies, winning many national sales awards.
